'Frit bead' and 'Bead, non-functional' by Bruce St.John Maher. I started casting these beads with color and dichroic frit in ' 02. Although they cut into reasonable shapes pleasantly enough, the best effect of the material wanted sharp unwearable shapes. I succumbed, hence 'bead, non-functional'. To make these expensive and virtually unusable items even more irresistable to all the insane collectors out there, I started insetting them with diamonds, opals, etc. Some things we do for the sheer love of it. In the lower image, the arrow points to a 10 pt. natural champagne diamond.
